I am partnering with the Kids In Need Foundation to provide school boxes to Kindergarten and First Grade students at Colfax Elementary for the 2008/2009 school year. School Boxes contain age appropriate school supplies that are distributed to schools which have significant numbers of families with demonstrated financial needs. Ninety One Percent (91%) of the children at Colfax Elementary qualify for free or reduced lunch. School boxes cost $12 each but we also have to pay printing and shipping costs. So I am asking each person to donate $15 this year which will purchase one school box. You can donate on the Kids In Need website at www.kidsinneed.net/donate. I will also be holding a benefit concert in July. Please stay tuned for details. Tickets for the event will be $15 per person. Those of you who donate on the website will be admitted free just remember to bring your receipt! Please join me in supporting kids this school year.
